I don't know how to decorate my room!?
So i am 15 and I am sick of my room. Its making me feel drab. I have a big closet dark oak desk which i also use as a nightstand so i have my alarm clock and lamp and computer everything on it. I have a big bed and giant dresser with mirrors that are a light oak color. At the moment my walls are daisy yellow and i want something relaxing and fresh now… I dont have very good lighting in my room cause i dont have a fan/lighting fixture on my ceiling its kind of a side tall lamp like this:

I want a change… I want to have something new but my inspiration is really OFF…
Here are somethings about me:
I love fashion and makeup
I play volleyball
I do have anger issues i guess so i need a really relaxing area for myself
I love being girly but i am down to earth
favorite colors are blue, purple, and green.
I have a metal boarded closet like this: http://i-cdn.apartmenttherapy.com/images/uploads/9.13closetdoor.jpg
If you could show me pictures or ideas that would be awesome!
Thanks for everyone who answers!
Go to your local paint store and get a few paint samples, try them on your wall. Mainly tan or medium tone colors to make you feel calm. After you narrow them down to a few, see how they look next to your floor and then change your bedding. The anger issue is common with people around your age. Its not normal if you dont go thru that stage in your life.lol. If you like green then Dry Sage from benjamin moore is a good calm green for you or woodlawn blue if you choose blue. Change your light bulb and that also can make a difference on how the room looks.
A new wall color and new bedding is all it takes to make a room feel completely different. Blues and greens have been found to be the most relaxing colors and very good for a bedroom. Purple looks very good in a bedroom, too. So your favorite colors will work very well. Pick one for the walls, then use that same color plus another for your bedding. Or use all three. See the site below for lots of images of bedrooms using those colors. If I were you, I’d pick out the bedding first, and then the paint store to match paint to one of the colors in the bedding.
Ok.. so check out some really cool bedding with your fave colors. then you can paint the walls now, if you like purple pick a nice purple and then you can paint 3 walls with that and the 4th wall an alternate color like a creamy white or do it the opposite way. Pick some new funky light fixtures for your bedroom or see if your parents will let you get a ceiling fan with a light fixture. The widows should be only a valance window treatment to let more light in and put up white mini blinds for privacy. Hope I was of help!
